I hate to bring up yet another helmet thread, but promised my wife I would really make an effort to find a helmet that I would wear and not shelf like my other 2.
On longer rides, when it's not too hot, I sometimes wear a 3/4. In other words, rarely here in Florida.
She has been imploring me to think about the kids and get a half helmet at least. The one I have causes a lot of drag, which is why I don't wear it.
I guess what i am asking is if anyone has one they like and what brand it is. I don't want the German one and would prefer some sort of safety factor if that's possible.
The guys I know mostly don't wear helmets and say over 30mph, nothing is gonna help, but I promised my wife I would ask.

Did those guys ever consider if your face was sliding along the ground at over 30mph? A helmet isn't just meant for impact, it's meant to prevent sliding damage to your head. I've seen full-face helmets where the guy was okay because his face slid along the ground with the helmet on and the helmet itself was completely scratched beyond recognition. Your "guys" are slightly incorrect. As for half-helmets, I can't help you there. I only wear full-face 100 percent of the time I ride.
I ahve a helmet just like that. I bought it online for about 45 dollars. I forgot where though. It is comfortable and stopped dragging once I took the small plastic visor of the top.
I saw some at the dealer that were kinda cool, but found that one manufacturer's large can be another's xl, which makes ordering online tough, however much I can save.
Everytime I found one I liked, they didn't have my size.
Hey F.U.I.R.S where did you get your helmet and what did it cost.
Thanks
I got it at the local HD dealer. It was $120.00.You might google HCI and find some dealers.I had purchased a ACC helmet, but didn't care for how it fit me.
