My latest big rig adventure got me layed over in the sunshine state so Idropped in onDaytona HD to continue my learning process...I'mcurious how you guy's find these people to deal with ?? I got caught up in the new bike fever and had a deal in place for an 08 Night Train financed thru HD but backed off at the last minute..They were going to pick-up my trade and deliver the Night Train to here in upstate NY for $500, I didn't think that was to bad...It would cost me more than that in gas, food, hotel, and booze to drive down there and get in the pick-up truck..
They did low ball me pretty bad on my trade in which I expected and thats what ended upkilling the deal after I thought about it some more......Over all how's their rep for sales and service ??
Never bought anything there but did shop there last year during Biketoberfest for a used roadking or eglide... I thought their used bike prices were out of line, so never got close to doing any deal. But that may have just been my timing during Biketoberfest...

I did notice used stuff seemed to go at a premium, unless your trying to trade in like I was.. Actually me trading was their idea..
Rossmeyers .....lots of people don't have much good to say about them....
He has 3 stores in the Ft Lauderdale area...I personally will never buy anything at any of them...got a real jerk of a sales person when I was looking for a bike...very high pressure..."your gonna buy a bike today....right?" ended up walking out as she was cursing because I wouldn't let her do a credit check....that being said I'm sure someone has had a great Rossmeyer experience...just wasn't me...or anyone I have talked to...
Didnt like the way I was treated at all by them when I was looking for my EG.... Go over to Seminole Harley on I-4 in Sanford you will be alot happier and get a better deal...... At Dest. Daytona you are paying for their new show room and hotel and resturants andeverything else they have there
I bought my bike from Rossmeyers Destination Daytona......I
traded in a Sportster 883 Custom on my Fatboy. After I went home and added up
all the add-ons and chrome along with the removable windshield and saddlebags, Corbin
seat/backrest and all....and figuring into the low trade in price of the Sportster.......
I figured the deal was not so bad. I bought my Fatboy from Rossmeyer.
I have never been treated poorly by any of his staff. Is he an ugly fat F**cker?
He sure is, and I wince when I see his billboards.
He seems to know business quite well.........but I have never had a bad experience.
Like you said.......$500 to get your 'good deal' home would be cheap. You might sell your bike locally......but then not get the bike you dealt for.
I was affraifd the fatboy I wanted would be gone before I got to sell my Sporty, so I traded.
Took about a grand beating in trade.....but got the bike I wanted.
You sometimes 'give and take'.
Destination Daytona is really worth a visit. The Harley dealership is OK--I haven't heard anything negative about it. Adamec in Jacksonville is also OK and has nice layouts. There is a small dealership in St. Augustine. They are a little easier to work with on a deal. You may want to check them out.
