My girlfriend got me the HD heated vest liner for Christmas last year. After scratching my head for close to a year, I finally got it wired up on my Dyna and took it for a test ride last week. I intentionally did not dig out my winter riding gear, and instead rode with my fall gear and the vest. My legs and hands got cold, but my torso was nice and toasty. I can tell that with the rest of my winter riding gear my warm up stops will be spaced much farter apart than last winter
As for wiring it up, there are a few options it you want to run it through the trickle charger pigtail. HD sells the "Female Pant Adapter #98544-04V" which retails for $6. I originally was planning on going this route, but worried about the length of the wires when used with the on/off switch that came with the vest. I had a spare pigtail wire to work with so I broke out the soldering iron and eliminated the need for the Pant Adapter. I'm not an expert at soldering so it took a bit of work to get everything cleaned up and back in the switch housing. But you'd never know it didn't come that way with the vest.
