A random thought from Kern
Ridingtowork this morning I thought:"Now where the hell would a forest ranger go to get away from it all?"
We go up to thecottage atleast once a month to "get away" for a long weekend.Anyone else have any stupid stuff like that crosstheir mind?
I asked my wife what she thought at lunch, she sighed and said,"Someday God will let me in onhis secrectas towhat I did wrong!!"

Funny but true story. My wife and I asked this very question to a forest ranger a few years ago, while we were vacationing in the Colorado Rockies. He was about to retire after many years in the Forest Service.
His response:
"We're moving to Florida. I'm sick and tired of snow, trees, tourists and traffic".
I asked him if he'd ever been to Florida. He responded "nope, but our daughter lives there and we want to be near her".
I just didn't have the heart to tell him what he might be getting himself into.
I shook his hand, wished him good luck and walked away.... almost blown away by his answers.
His response:
