I just got an email from a forum member from Switzerland who saw me riding last monday. So strange. Here, see for yourself...
Hi Anubiss,
I've read lots posts of yours in this HD forum for two reasons: one,
there are mostly funny. Two, you come from L.A and talk about the area
over there. I've been living one year there 2003-2004, and I have
enjoyed very much. I live in Switzerland now, and went for holidays in LA,
last week. I was walking by Westwood Boulevard, last monday, October 1st
and heard a very loud engine and saw a Fatboy with apes, that looked
like yours. Could it be you? Do you remember passing by that place at
that time. If it were you, I think it would be an amazing coincidence!
Thanks for replying!
Hope you have great time in L.A. I miss so much the place!
Take care,
LucaI have several doctors I go to regularly at UCLA since my head injury. I had an apointment last Mon. Oct 1 afternoon. This is the second time someone from the forums has "seen" me riding around and consiereing that there are a lot less of us right coasters on here I find it cool...
Same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. The user's name is 'mwdguy'..he's from Alberta, Canada..I live in West Virginia. Seems he was here on a work assignment, and recognized my bike from my sig on here..
I had a cop tell me he saw me riding in this particular area quite a few times... Then he handed me a ticket.[:@][:@]
D'Oh!!
Years ago, when I was an Army Private in Germany, I was on the back gate to USAREUR Hq. A little old lady came shuffling down the sidewalk, and approached. Turns out, she was part of a tour group, but she had wanted to break away on her own, and avoid the more popular tourist traps.
Anyway, we are BSing about where the US we were both from, and other things. When I told her I was from a small town in Central Minnesota, she responded: "You're Doris's son, aren't you??"
I about fell over. Turns out she and my mom had been friends back when I was like 7 yrs old.
