Up to your state, but generally most states consider it illegal unless the replacement lights are DOT or SAE or sumpin' (I forget which alphabet soup pertains). But if you can get it inspected, it will seldom be a problem. I run tiny bullet lights for my front signals. Got 'em at a truck stop, and I think they were for mounting license plates.
It probably is. Hell I've heard that the Kuryakyn Panacea LED's that I run are illegal but who cares. I'm a cop and I wouldn't know it unless somebody told me. I know the blue dot I run is illegal, but again, who cares. If I was on America's Top Ten I probably wouldn't run them but otherwise go for it.
Remove your rear turn signals and instead have a intergrated rear brake light turnsignal. As in the Heavy Duty Cyles product? Looks good Thx
They are technically illegal in all states. Most times you wont get pulled over, but if a cop wants to harass you for any reason he now has an excuse. Bad news if your smuggling some good smoke over the border.....
Yeap it's illeagl in CA but I change my amber lights to red and they stay run along with the brake light. I rather get a ticker then get hit by a car. Like terry said who cares.
I agree that it depends on the state you live in.
For instance, here in Colorado, you do not need to have turn signals at all. Your arm works just fine.
Until I got my FLTRI, I never had signals on my softtails.

I think you probably got the message on the legality side, how about the safety side. A riding buddy has them on his night train and you can not see them at all in the daylight hours. They show up O.K after dark, but I strive to be as visable as possible at all times. Just something to think about.
