Engine Sputters When Accelerating
Have '03 Fatboy EFI that has an issue where the engine lacks power and hesitates as if it's starving for gas when I get on it. I've ruled out bad gas, spark plugs, air cleaner, battery voltage and cables/terminals.Anyone ever experience this type of problem? Thanks in advance.

Mine did this last month while up in Maggie Valley. The tech at Ghost Town HD in Waynesville, Jason, found my intake gasket had "rolled under". It was a simple fix and while he was changing it, he also found two service bulletions for the carb which he also fixed, at a nominal cost. Bike runs great now. He said the intake gasket is a common problem, even on brand new bikes.

If the plug wires could be a possibility, can the coil cause this problem? What about the fuel pump? Where is it located? Is the fuel filter in the tank?

does it do it when the gas tank is full ? my 02 heritage was acting like that when gas level got down to a half a tank....ends up it was a small hole in gas pickup hose ,inside gas tank...found its common problem the hose is too long and rubs...
