Check out you local western wear stores. I just got a new one about 5 months ago and it was only $25.

Local WalMart had Levis Jackets on the clearance rack for $20, took it home cut the sleeves off right where the seam is, used a lighter to burn the frayed ends away, got some sew on snaps in the sewing section and put on the collar so it isn't slapping my cheeks going down the highway and I got a perfect jean vest for $20 and a little of my time.
