If they'd already pumped their gas, I'd have just pulled up behind them and waited for them to get out of the way. . . they'd probably gotten the hint.

What he said. If that didn't work then go over there kick their bikes over get your gas and tell them if you see them doing it again you will kick their asses and bone their old lady's.
P.S. If not anything else this should get them to talk to you!

My thoughts exactly when they saw you waiting they would probably have moved

I think most people realize the danger of smoking next to a gas pump but what continues to amaze me is the number of jerks (male & female), cagers & bikers, who use their cell phones while fueling up. IMO this is worse.
Cell phones are a non-issue http://www.snopes.com/autos/hazards/gasvapor.asp

RE: Biker pump etiquette
Just because someone rides an H-Dmeans nothing unless theycan loosethe ego trip mentality. Riding/Owning an H-D motorcyclewillnot make them a biker, rider or a sociable person. It makes them an H-D owner.
The bike will not give you character, class or social skill`s. There are a lot of H-D and other brand of motorcycle riders out there that don`t have a clue about proper etiquette or conduct towards other riders or evenpeople in general.
Some buy the bike just to say hey look at me. I ride an H-D. Therefore, I`m cool bad and tough.I`m so cool I can look down and snub my nose at everyone.
No social skills and lack of intelligence is more like it....

I am constantly amazed at how many people get upset over a simple little thing like a wave.

NEWS FLASH: People ignore me all the time, yet it rarely effects me.
quit waving at me

Thank you for clearing that up. I had a jerk come up to me at a gas station and challenge me about using the cell phone................. and I was the person making the gas delivery.

.......what did idiots worry about before there were cell phones to whine about????[X(]

You know what, I don't care if people wave or give me the finger. Who cares! Just because I ride a harley doesn't mean I'll be taking warn showers into the wee hours of the night with every mouth breathing rider that comes down the pike.

I ride because that's whatI do. Not to impress, not for a feable wave to make feel warm and fuzzy.
