Default 2006 FXDLI - Extended Warranty - Yes or No

I've been trying to decide if I should buy an extended warranty or not on a new 2006 Dyna Low Rider. I've read 5 pages of posts on extended warranty's on this site and know all the arguments for and against. I'm just curious which way a poll will go.

I noticed on Harley's website the other day that they are offering a free extended warranty on certain models. They didn't go into details becasue they want you to see your dealer.

If it's free, I take it. If not, I don't.

I heard from my Dealer that the special on the extended warranty means it will be extended 3 months (i.e. if you get the 5 year extended warranty they extend it out an additional 3 months, so it would be 5 years and 3 months).

Not sure if that is on all models. Havent check it out thoroughly myself.

No on the Extended Warranty ... although they will sell it pretty much up to the time the factory warranty expires ... I think the extended warranty price was about $1500 ... they sell a road hazard option as well for about $350 (I think) ....

no no and no. first of all how long do you keep your bikes??? when they changed the stock warranty to two years, it really made the extrended unneccesary....your choice though, you would need two or three major repairs after two years to break even.

I never subscribed to extended warranties. Consumer Reports even discourages them saying you would be better off setting aside $500 in a money market account or a CD and leaving it their as your "repair fund." It will never "expire."
