The local tech school parking lot is where they do the MSF (the SC version, at least!) classes. It has all of the lines used for the various drills painted on the lot surface.
Practice what? Slow speed stuff is great in the high school parking lot on the weekends/church lots weekday afternoons after the preschoolers go home. Mid to high speed - find a two lane without too much traffic and some curves. High speed - lonely interstate if there is such a thing. Personally, I try not to have anything to "get out of my system" when riding a motorcycle - dangerous combination. Some beer and margaritas with friends and then let my daughter (non drinking age) drive the car home works best for me!
N.E. corner of Tucson is Catalina Highway that in 27 miles goes from 2,000 feet to over 8,000 feet to the top of Mount Lemon. Excellent road with twisties all the way to the top. It is my dailymorning ride. Most of the time I lay back and cruise but every now and then I get a wild hair and drag my pipes. (not hard to do on a 1200 C)
I'm a former MSF instructor and continually try to improve my slow speed skills just in my daily riding around town.
