Default I got something free from the MoCo

Saturday I received a box in the mail, way to small to be my ACC helmet. I don't recall ordering anything else. First thought was someone sent me something I didn't order.
The letter started, Dear, Advisory Panel Member.
Earlier this year I received an email asking me to participate in a monthly questioner on and about my Harley, the MoCo and my purchasing habits related to my bike. I did it, mostly for the fun and to see what they might be asking.
The letter was a thank you letter and there was a nice Harley hat in the box.
My reaction is I got something for FREE from them. I was surprised and am pleased that they made the effort. And yes, I'm wearing the hat, the old one was beat to hell and had paint all over it.
Is anyone else on this forum part of the monthly advisory panel and did you receive a free hat or something else? It's not often the MoCo gives something for free to it's customers.

Got my hat too! Pretty cool. Last gift was a small cleaning kit. I gave that one to the wife! LOL! I think the gift before that one was a Harley water bottle. I'm working my way to the gold watch....... Ha!

Along with motorcycles, I'm also into watches (other mechanical marvels). Breitling always sends a free gift when you buy a new watch. Usually a hat or cheap Swiss army knife, but it's a smart move on their part to build brand loyalty. People like the feeling that the manufacturer cares, even if they had to bend over just to get appreciated.

I was on a cruise to Mexico, and we stopped at one of those tourist places, to shop. I walked into a watch store. After looking around for a while, I couldn't find anything I liked enough to buy. then the sales guy showed me a copy of a Breitling he had. I liked it, so I bought it for $100. About a year later, I had not been wearing the watch, and wanted to start sporting it again. When I pulled it out, the battery was dead, so I took it to a watch store. When I got to the store, the watch was ticking again. I figured the battery had just a little juice in it, but wanted to replace the battery, anyways. I gave it to the store owner, and he looked at the watch, and then me like I was an idiot. He said, "The watch is kinetic", and doesn't need a battery. OK. Then I told him that for a cheap knock off, they put some work into it. He said, it isn't a copy, it was a real Breitling. Wow, I just paid money for a stolen watch, LOL. Anyways, the watch was big, and heavy, and like I said, I never wore it. So, the owner bought it from me. He gave me $300 for it, which is more than I paid for it, so I was happy. Since then, I have found out what they go for... I should have kept it. LOL. Oh well.

BTW, I have never got anything from Harley, for free. [:@]

Good thing you posted that story here and not a watch forum. Buying an imitation watch is considered to be on the same level as a dude riding a stolen HD while wearing a speedo and fingerless gloves. Anyway, just lettin ya know. Glad it worked out for you.
