No, not really. He did **** me off. I don't regret having a Harley for one second.... Just shoulda lived 70 years ago when the were the fastest things on two wheels...

A few observations/opinions on GREEN.
I always heard of green as a bad luck color from drag racers. This because when racing bracket classes & leaving the line first, you want to have a car that is the most noticeable/distracting color you can (yellow followed closely by red). The hope is that while the other guy is waiting for his green light your launch will distract him in to a false start or "red lighting" thus winning you the race without even running the full track.
While looking thru the paint cabinet @ MY father-in-laws body shop for a good blue or purple to paint my last bike (see avatar ), I couldn't get over the fact that most of his leftover paints were greens. This made me realize that it must be that more green cars where hit. Now it could be that there are more green cars on the road, but not from what I've seen. I would have to say that green is such a predominate color in nature, grass, trees etc. , that it gets noticed less where it counts. Have been T-boned in a green & gold truck before. Will not ever own another green vehicle, let alone bike.

YMMV
why does masculinity have to be measered in "lets race" i hate show offs he knows he might have a faster bike what is the point in proving it? if i show up in a mustang andthe other guy shows up in a granny buick does that make me a better person? me personally i hate compition. i hate show offs, i hate gloaters.
Santa Fe Baking Co. If you're ever in the area you should check it out. All you can drink coffee, good Adovada, Green Chile , locally owned and operated.
Adovada? Green Chile? I don't even know what that is. Our social diversity here is what makes us a great group of people. However, I don't know what puzzles me more, the fact that you think that you could win that race (assuming that you can't arrange some divine intervention). Or the fact that you hauled your laptop to the local coffee house to enjoy some treats that I have never heard of and entertained this lad's ramblings. Sounds a little "yuppy" to me. And what threw me over the top is that you came here and asked the question. I appreciate the fact that you ride and God bless you for it, but you may want to spend some of your time at the coffee house to study a broader scope of the motorcycle world. Or, you mayput the computer away and go ride and watch some of these donor bike guys push their rides. Watch them run a few times, and you will reconsider your question. You are getting beat up a little bit because most folks with a practical understanding of the intent of design behind different types of motorcycles see your question as one answered by a little common sense. If you want to ride fast, sell your HD and buy some rice. Enjoy, and ride safe.

Yeah, I know. That's why us youngins tend not to ride them Harleys because of this. But I don't want to have to choose damnit. I want a fast Harley.
I do think it's a little funny that everyone (and I know lots of you have dumped thousands of $$$s into your rides to make them a little faster) rags on me for wanting a fast Harley, rather than saying "Yeah, it would be nice if they were a little faster" Some of you may not care, most of you, admit it or not, would love it if your Hog could toast those rice burners, no one would be angry...
You don't think that's funny?
As for Yuppie... I commute 500 miles a week on my ride. This is one of the days I don't have do to a 130 mile round trip to work. I'm working from home... well, actually, a coffee shop instead... if you came out to New Mexico I'm pretty sure you wouldn't call anything out here "Urban".
An 05 ZX-10 is only about a 9 sec 1/4, at 153 mph, with a proffesional dirver... I bet this guy couldn't run it in under 11... (but that's just whishful thinking, but most of the rocket guys around here can't drive for $hit). if I were putting a good 130 hp to the rear wheele ya think I'd have a chance?
Well, make sure you have that dyno report duct taped to your handlebars so you hit the optimum shift points.....
