Man, I love Key West! Some friends along with my wife and I spent part of last Feb. in Key Largo. We rode the keys just about every day. We're heading back down on Feb. 21st. This time we'll stay on Sugarloaf Key, about 14 miles north of Key West.
There are 54 spacious rooms with new carpeting, draperies, and bedspreads. Each room has contemporary oak furnishings, air conditioning, cable TV and even refrigerator (some rooms have kitchenettes.) Immaculate, tiled bathrooms are large and bright.
Have stayed at the Blue Marlin, matter of fact ask for the room above the office, it is bigger that the norm. It is a good hike from the Hog's Breath Bar end of Duval. My recommendation would be start walking and don't stop till you get to the Hog's Breath end on Duval and crawl back, if you do that in reverse you will never make it back. The Blue Marlin in on the rainbow side of the line if you know what I mean, but all in all it was an alright place to stay.
