Looking at a 1999 Road King. It has a 1550 kit and has the after market kick start kit added but you would have to be the Incredible Hulk to kick start it. The bike is black has 1772 miles, it was a garage queen. The guy wants 13,800.00 for it. In you opinions it is a good deal or a so so deal?
The bike is nine years old. The price is ballpark to high. My biggest worry would be if the modifications were performed by a qualified mechanic. The low miles make me think it was run enough after the engine work to be sure all is ok. Look around and compare.

KBB says 12,108 for retail on a 99 Road King Standard in my area. I got a one owner99 FLHRCI with a set of Vance and Hines true duals that I am riding until I get our Scream' Eagle finished and We didn't pay even the 12,800 for it.
That price seems a little high to me. The 1550 kit is a nice mod if done correctly and those miles are like new but the bike is still 9 years old. I would think it is worth about 12,000 to 12,500 in my area.
I have 99 rk, it sill looks new, 13.8 is not bad the up grades are woth the extra be coll offer 13 the blue book is 12.3 its worht it go whit your gut you want go wrong, just one qwestion does it have gear drive?

I paid $9600 for my 1999 RKC at the dealer about 3 months ago. It had 8,800 miles with about $2,500 of additional chrome. It has SE slip-ons, but that's about it.
On the surface the price sounds a little high. I agree with the above poster that $12 - $12.5 is a better starting point.
The thing that would raise flags to me would be your Incredible Hulk comment. What compression is the 1550 kit at?Does it start easily if you get it kicked over? Is it a kick only conversion, or is the electric start still installed? If electric start is there, does the starter struggle to turn it over? This could be the sign of a cobbled together engine. While it may start and run strong, is it over built with mis-matched parts? This could lead to an unhappy overall experience in the long run.
