He wanted a Harley but did not want to spend the money, so he settled for something else. This happens all the time.

well it seems to me that he knows how to set up a web site, but can not find a job doing so, hmmmmm maybe that's because his job is being done by one of his Japanese, Chinese or Korean buddies overseas that designed his pc. of s**T bike, go figure, what a jerk. ,

Bottom line is he is right. Harley is there to make money. They did it a tried and true way. It works.

There have been advancements, but MOCO could do better. But I bought mine and love it and will continue to ride and travel the U.S. on it with the comradery that is Harley...

If there's a downside to riding HD it's listening to all the metric folks defending/apolgizing about their choice of bike. Ultimately I must ask: Why can't we all just get along?

Hmmm,I ride metric street bikes,Euro dirt bikes, and a Harley.I never thought that a metric bike owner had to defend their bikes, quite the contrary. When I'm on my Jap sport bike and I get asked WHY??? I say, lighter, faster, handles better, stops better, costs less, and is more reliable. Lets face it,they have it covered.

If you bought a motorcycle on stats alone, you wouldn't buy a Harley. It's the intangebles that make a HD what it is.Character, personality, image, history,Amercan made, etc.

I appreciate a Harley for what it is.Old school design is good for something. Just like an American muscle car from the 60's.Heck,I can watch an old farm fly wheel motor run at a fair for hours.

The response was somewhat tongue in cheek but I was serious about getting along. I too have ridden and owned all types of bikes in my nearly 45 years of riding. My last 2 sportbikes were Buells and my BMW R1150R was more of a sport tourer. I have encountered a lot of folks apologizing about buying a Jap cruiser. I don't think it's necessary to apologize for your ride especially if you really enjoy the bike. I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge that the far east and europe make some fine motorcycles.

I personally have a lust for Ducatis and even though I don't find them very comfortable I may have to own one before I take the final ride.

The onlything worse (IMO) than the apologizer is the person who has to constantly tell you why their (non HD) is so great. Again if that's what you like enjoy it andquit telling me about it. You don't have to justify your choice to me, especially if it entails putting my choice down.

I'm kinda honored now. He spent so much time and money to talk about Harleys. I think he is supporting Harley and doesn't even know it.
