Hey all, this is my first post but I've been on for awhile looking at posts.
Anyways now to the point. I have a 2005 XL1200c and for some reason the battery keeps dying. My mechanic tells me to just recharge it, so I bought a bettery recharger. Is this a common occurence or does it sound like I should get a new battery.
yea sometimes it sits up to 2 weeks between rides. It's my primary form of transportation but as a college student I dont need to drive that much except for my joy rides.
Did you mechanic test the battery and charging system?
It may just be time for a new battery. Some last longer than others. So far, my 05 battery is hanging in there.

It's not unheard of for sportster batteries to only go 2 years.
That would be especially true if it's not kept on a
battery tender between letting it sit for 2 weeks.
