begin rant--Why the hell do we need three of four typs of fastners, what the f**k is wrong with standard nuts and bolts? Why put torx on anything ever under any circumstances? Why put torx in places where it is impossible to get to with a torx driver?--end rant
I had to laugh when I first got my Harley......took like 6 different tools to put on my License plate. What I thought was a 1 min. job took 25. Afterwards I was talking to an friend who has had harleys for years and wondering geeze what did I get into....he laughed said using all the different fasteners was to keep people from walking by and just taking a bunch of stuff off your bike. Makes sense I suppose.....but it sure is a pain doing any work or add ons.
I actually like the torx heads as I have yet to strip one out....I suppose I'll be cussin' when I do.
