Would love to work for a biker mag....a dream come true. But I'm a computer nerd that can't spell sonot an editor...[8D] Though I do think writing would be fun once in a while....

Good luck with your search.

As long as we are begging for jobs and throwintg out new fresh ideas.....How about a "Readers Writeup" a section where we the riders perform the test ride and provide you with the writeup. Now I'm sure that anyone us here would love to provide you with our services, but I'll be happy to offer mine!

Anyways...Great Magazine and good luck in the search, feel free to grab up my idea and run with it! I know I for one would love to see an "average joe" do a new bike writeup.
I love that idea but can't do it.

Years ago we did just this. We called it the Fantasy Ride and invite 5 or 6 people - some in the industry, others not, and head out with 5 or 6 new Harleys. We'd swap the bikes around over 3 or 4 days, take lots of photos and notes and then print them in American Iron Magazine.

Now the insurance laws have changed and so have Harley's rules and we can no longer do this. Must be magazine staff only with company insurance.
Well that figures....Hmmm put the person on the "staff" for a week...
Why does everyone have to ruin all our fun. Best of luck to you in your search, I'm sure you'll have no troubles finding the right individual for your awsome mag!

Jeez, I thought we'd get buried with people wanting this job here.

Had very few replies to date.

Oh we all want it......just not enough experience around here (as an Editor that is). Now if youdon't mindResumes from abunch of "over 40" apprentices....your mailbox will be full in the morning

Buzz, while we have your attention, as I mentioned above; how about considering asmall Canadian section each month (a couple of pages to cover events or bikes). I've soldbikes for a long time and it's a big market up here, with a lot of large events andmore custom Harley's than you can shake a stick at. I would guess that we are your second largest market (but I have been known to be wrong...occasionally). I do realize we don't have the population that the U.S. has, but I figured I'd throw it out there.

Even the thought of having to make one trip to Stamford would give pause to most of us!
