Default Motorcycle Magazine Editor Needed

Chris Maida and the boys still have their jobs editing American Iron Magazine, so no big scandal here.

But we are looking to add another senior editor to our team with magazine experience and knoweldge of motorcycles and the motorcycle industry.

If you have at least a few years professional writing, editing and managing experience, and have a passion for Harleys, please contact terryo@tamcommunications.com and tell him why you are the right prson.

This is a part time job, which can possibly be done off site and not necessarily in our Stamford, Connecticut offices.

You should hire a military guy, like myself. I could do it part time, while still beating the bad guys. Oh, I am a published author (of sorts). I wrote a motorcycle safety article and had it published in an Air Force magazine, called the "Combat Edge". Attached is the article. Just kidding about the job though, unless you want to hold it for me for 3 1/2 years.

Can't help you with the editor's position.....but when we talk you into putting a Canadian section in AI (it was worth a shot) and you're looking for an Advertising Sales Manager.....For gods sake, call me

I'll agree with Whiskers....... "best motorcycle magazine around".

As long as we are begging for jobs and throwintg out new fresh ideas.....How about a "Readers Writeup" a section where we the riders perform the test ride and provide you with the writeup. Now I'm sure that anyone us here would love to provide you with our services, but I'll be happy to offer mine!

Anyways...Great Magazine and good luck in the search, feel free to grab up my idea and run with it! I know I for one would love to see an "average joe" do a new bike writeup.

I love that idea but can't do it.

Years ago we did just this. We called it the Fantasy Ride and invite 5 or 6 people - some in the industry, others not, and head out with 5 or 6 new Harleys. We'd swap the bikes around over 3 or 4 days, take lots of photos and notes and then print them in American Iron Magazine.

Now the insurance laws have changed and so have Harley's rules and we can no longer do this. Must be magazine staff only with company insurance.

I've got some writing experience, but no bike in my stable. So I'm a little removed from the world you need represented... so sad...

I'm with the others: best motorcycling mag. Could you do a writeup or two on going the affordable route? What to look for in older bikes, what to watch out for mechanically and financially?
