Oh my, what an experience. So very very relieved that you are o.k. given the circumstances and the photos. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us.
Hi Primo. Sorry to hear about your accident and the loss of your ride. Glad to hear that you survived and you will heal up reasonably well. I can relate to what your going through, on 10/27/05 I unfortunately did a 'head-on' with a deer with my bike (05 springer classic) which i only had for six weeks. Just our luck, the deer was 'uninsured'. We took the 'long slide' (me, the hog and the deer) about 100 feet at 5:30 am on my way to work. Fortunately it was chilly that day and i had on my full faced helmet and all gear needed for cold weather, it allowed me with the grace of GOD to walk away with minor injuries and my scooter is in the shop being repaired. Wish you all the best and may we both ride free again real soon. Take care!!
Primo,
Glad you were able to walk away. Three years ago I totaled my Ultra out and had Progressive Insurance. Sometime after they decided to total the bike I asked about the sales tax I would have to pay because there would be no trade-in. When I got a new EGlide and sent them the receipt, they gave me the tax value of the totaled bike. They didn't say anything about it until I asked.

I am happy to be able to hear this story, not because I'm glad you went down... but a lot of the times, with the conditions you spoke of, you wouldn't be ABLE to tell us this story. I am glad you got away with minimal injuries, and hope that the cage had coverage.
Either way I would suggest talking to a local lawyer to see if there are any injuries that will affect you later. These should be taken care of too, as it sounds you were completely in the right. Thank God for not being killed, thats a Happy New Year!
Let us know how the replacement comes... and talk to someone, IMO.
Primo, man, that truly sucks. And like the rest, I'm glad you were able to walk away. But, having walked away from my own 70mph slide as the result of cager choices, I know you've got the all over body ache thing going on. There's just not a good way to lay on the ground at that speed...
Sorry about the bike, it was a good looking scoot, and I hate to see it in such shape! And good luck with the insurance and the new SG. Don't hang up the helmet!
