Are you refering to the electrical connectors? if so there is a tool listed in the HD manual , I took mine apart using the flattened end of a paperclip . worked just great

A pain in the *** for sure. If this connector has the holes next to the pins (newer bike), then you need to do this...at least this is how I did it.

This is very hard to explain BTW....

The pins have releases like all others. They are accessed from the front of the connector. BUT FIRST you have to release the frontlock.
If you look down into the front of the connector at the bottom where the pins come out - the bottom - it'scolored cream or tan. Yes this whole thing needs to bepulled up and away from the pins. Not totally out of the connector, just up.

The way to do this is to take either an hook or something, hook it through the two holes in the center and pull.
You can also use a long skinny something and push it through the rear of the connector - to the front - and push the lock up.

OK.... now that you got the lock undone you use a needle or very small piece of wire to access the individual pin release from the front of the connector.
There are little holes in the front of the connector. Take the needle, insert into the hole next to each pin and wiggle the little ***** around until the pin releases. Trust me, there is a proper tool for this. I didn't have it..so it was like pure hell getting this done, but you do get better at it as you go.

Dude...Good luck.

i need help pulling my pins too. seriousley though, there will be a lock tab you need to release. if you look at the face of the connecter you will see the holes for the pins and a spot above the pin where the lock tab is. you need to stick in the tab release tool (pick or end of paper clip) if you don't have the pin release tool assortment. when you press down on the tab pull the wire out of the connecter. i'm sure i don't have to remind you to mark what pins came from what terminals.
