Lots of good ideas on carrying Roxie .My next question is when. She will only be 8wks when we get her .I have heard many suggestions on the age when she should actually ride.I will probably get her used to the sound right away, only at idle.I am concerned about hearing damage. For myself,I use ear buds for my mini stereo.Guess I could devise some sort of minis for her ??All my other pets like music.
i know a guy who shows up everywhere in NW GA with his ultra and two little dogs , one rides the tank and the other the top of the trunk, he has carpet so they can hang on. LMAO first time i saw them both leanin on a turn in unison!
Both of our Dachshunds Maggie (2 yr old Longhair mini) and Barney (10 yr old Standard) both ride on the 2002 FLHT. I have them harnessed to a bag made up from a backpack with straps over my shoulders to hold they're rear in front of my lap. They ride on the tank. With my wife on Maggie rides between us. Barney and I were out today in Windsor Canada for a cruise around town. Of course he has his genuine Harley leather jacket on. I've never had a problem in ten years and three bikes but it helps to have a tank bra or pad held on by a bungy cord for they're paws.

RE: Pets and Riding
We got a guy out here that takes his dog riding with him. Big dog, rides on his tank, also has it carpeted. I'm not sure if I like the idea. Dogs are like 3 year old kids. Hate to think what would happen if the guy had to stop fast. I guess carrying a small dog in a carrier would be safe, it just scares me. Wouldn't take a small kid for a ride either....just me
Since no one asked my opinion, I'll give you one! Leave the pets at home. But then you didn't ask my opinion so I'll go crawl under another post!! [:@]

There is a guy here locally that rides with his Chocolate lab. The dog jumps right up on the bike and lays in front of him on the tank. Crazy if you ask me but the dog seems to enjoy it. What bothers me is he frequents a local biker bar and is usually drunk.

Stuff like that really bothers me. I don't understand how anyone can drink and ride or drink and drive. I would love to take a dog with us riding, but we currently don't have one.
