its great that the nighster is for you, but it aint for everyone, thats why there are different versions of the sportster
Ditto. I've never had a Sportster but I rode a friend's 1200 with a stage II and I was really surprised how fast and nimble it was. None of my bigger Harleys would have a chance of staying with it.
I could really go for one of those new nightsters for an around town scoot and a canyon carver. I'd like to see the exhaust, air cleaner, rear springs and some pieces on the primary blacked out but that's just my take on it.
I had a 77 Cafe. I rode it alot but it was not as much fun as it looked. The bike doesn't handle, the brakes were terrible, and it was very uncomfortable. It was one of the best looking bikes Harley ever made though.
I had an 84 XR-1000 also. I raced it in BOTT at Daytona, Loudon, Pocono, and Laguna Seca. The bike was underpowered, didn't handle, had terrrible brakes, as did the Cafe.
i live in a small town in southern new jersey .theres an older guy here
don't know him or his name but he rides one of these bikes to the
local diner here in town about two or three days a week.
i stopped and looked at it several times and it looks to be in very good shape
don't know the year or nothing else about it .guess the next time i'll have to ask.
this is only about the second one i've ever seen the other wasat a show
Every time I try to post pictures my tablet crashes it's browser. I've got pics posted in my album. User name Blondair. Need advise for fair asking price. 1977 HARLEY DAVIDSON CAFE RACER PROJECT/ REBUILD.
Numbers on motor and frame are good. Really wanted this for myself. Unfortunatley needing a car is more important at this time. MEH....
The 77-78 XLCRs were basically a '79 sportster (new frame) with a different tank and rear fender and moved back controls. If ya really want one, pick up a '79 ironhead and build your own.
What do you guys think of the 02-07 883R's? I really like'em and would love to have one as a second bike. Not a cafe bike; more dirt track. But would make a nice cafe if you could bring yourself to tear one down.
Where do you think they'll fall in the history of the Sporty? Too new to be collectable, but to me they seem to have a niche/ cult-bike feel to them. Or do you think they will be remembered as just another flavor of the Sporty?
