With all the shows out there like Pimp My Ride and Trick My Truck, they need one for bikes! Take someones rat bike and make it sweet. As long as those pucks at OCC don't do it.
I guess there's something like that, called "build or bust".
You build your bike with the help of a team of experts (but it's you that must make the whole thing together) within 30n days. You manage to do it, you get to keep the bike.
But I think you start ground up, not with a rat bike.
good luck finding someone that would let you have their rat to deface it. there is alot more to rats than you think. mine hasn't been washed for about 15 years and it isn't going to get washed either. next time you see a rat approach the owner and ask them if they would like to see some new chrome and paint on his bike. i already know his answer. NO!!!!!!!!!
I don't think it would be a great idea as everyone has their own pretty stringent ideas of what they think looks good or bad on a bike and you are going to just upset somebody if : First: Thier bike is supposedly stolen like on Overhaulin' or Second: It comes back customized in a completely different direction than you intended on taking it. Just my .02
I met Chip Foose a few months ago (very cool guy) and asked if they were going to branch out to motorcycles on Overhaulin. He said he originally wanted to do bikes and maybe boats and other things, but the producers or whoever wanted to keep the show focused on older cars and such.
But with all the build shows on TV now, I think it's only a matter of time before someone does something similar.
