I think they are great as an adjunct to the service manual. It gives you a good picture in your head, ahead of time, of the start to finish process of a service task. I highly recommend the DVD's.
exactly. There's no substitute for actually seeing something being done before you do it.
As I said I'm more of a book guy but I have to admit these videos were an eye opener. I'm am getting ready to do my first service and lubing the throttle cable is one step. Actually seeing it done really does give you a better idea of what to do. Maybe I'll add the DVD to my tool chest too. thanks.
It depends on your wrenching skills on how much you'll get out of them. I had almost no wrenching skills when I got my bike and I really liked the DVD's. They helped me a lot. For someone that has experience with bikes/cars it probably wouldn't be as worthwhile.
I have the Fix My Hog, DVD and have looked at the "free" Expertvillage videos. In my opinion the free expertvillage videos are just as good or better.
