None on the road...but a crap load off road. Also ride dirt and I try to ride over my ability. Wouldn't recommend that. Usually the day after riding dirt something on my body is a little off or crooked.
I have been down on my own account 3 times over the years. About 10 days ago I got run into by a kid turning into a gas station from the center lane. Unfortunately, I was in the right hand lane............... Didn't know a bike could go from 25 mph to 0 so quick.
Got to kept all my body parts in tact (just sore). More pissed than anything else, and some bent and scratched up parts.
Get to ride another day.
My helmet's off to you Goblish and to others here who've had bad crashes... Wow. If you get back on the bike and keep riding that's the spirit.
I've been very lucky I know. It's just a matter of time i'm sure. All any of us can do is minimize the cagers abilities to get us by always riding with the attitude that they don't see you. ALWAYS assume they're going to do the worst possible thing at the worst time.
One thing I swear I think has helped me is the amber spot lamps on my E-Glide. They stand out more than white and I think people look twice when they see that amber coming at them (plus the left one is angled up into the opposing lane a wee bit so catches them right in the eye at a certain distance). Do any of you have these amber spots? Noticed any difference?
Re-tread got me @50mph,4o am,couple years back, just outside of Pyote ,TX.
Road rash & a few stitches.Bike didn't fare so well though.Got it put back together in a few weeks &started cleaning the windshield more often.
Around 35 years ago, on a 650 Triumph went around a corner and went off the road on the INSIDE and almost hit an huge oak tree. Went back in the morning and looked at the tree. It was no a tree but phone pole and I missed it by about 3 feet.Could see my tracks in the dirt. No wonder it lookd so dam big. Oh and there were adult beverages involved in this near miss.[sm=alcoholic.gif]learnd my lesson and now never drink and drive.

I had been riding for 14 yrs on the street without a helmet since 16 yrs. old. On the start of the 15th year decided to start wearing atleast a half helmet to quiet the parents and wife's family. Year 16 me and the Mrs. had a driver brake heavily and jerk over to make an exit and took out my front-end on the interstate at about 50 mph. Went flying and broke several bones along with my wife. I would have to say the worst part was lying on the road which was about 130 degrees. Glad I had my helmet that day cause it got severly beat up. I am not trying to preach using a helmet or anything but I wished I would have had more protective clothes on. I now won't leave the house on a ride without my mesh riding jacket with armor. I know it is not leather but at 80+ degrees it makes me feel that I am a little safer.
The only bonus is I was riding a metric touring bike in the accident and now own an Cobalt and Pewter Ultra just into my 30's. Heck of a price to pay though with therapy and mind games that get played in my head now about the accident. I have moved on but will never forget watch blind spots of all drivers even the ones that are ahead by about two and half car lengths.
PS. Wife jokingly told me that if I want a different bike just say something now.
3 First one the brakes went to the bottom of a 1976 FXE superglide in the middle of turning left at an intersectio in Virginia Beach. I clipped the back end of a Volkswagen, bounced off, ran over a curb and fell over in a yard. No injuries or damage.
Second one my mind went out on a dark road at midinight after a wrong turn and the road went right when I though it went straight. Slid into a ditch and dented the tank on the same '76 FXE.
Third, a PepsiCo van crossed a double yellow line passing a truck stopped at an intersection to let me out of a parking lot and took my front wheel and forks out and bent the frame. The cop said it was my fault because I was pulling out of a private drive. Should get the bike back next week with new front rim, tire, forks, fender, frame and a newly painted tank. No injuries. The bike stopped, fell over and I stepped off.
