I am partial to Cruiserworks boots. They are the most comfortable footwear I've ever owned. I ride everyday and then I'm on my feet from 6 to 8 hours a day, I needed a boot capable of handling that and the Cruiserworks boots fit the bill. In addition they are waterproof and don't look bad. I know it's hard to find anything that's NOT made in China but these boots are made in Canada and that was another positive selling point for me. I had to drive a few miles to find a dealer who carried them but it was worth it to make sure they fit. They are not cheap, but I don't mind paying more for something that is going to last.
I've worn nothing but Dr Marten's. Worn them for nearly 20 years now. They last me about 2 years before there is no tread on the bottom left.
Great quality, anti-slip soles, super comfortable. Only downside is that I hear they melt a little easier on pipes than others. I have a few smears on my pipes, but nothing really bad.
I can walk miles with no discomfort and I'm a lazy no exercise getting fat a$$.
One boot style doesn't fit all riding circumstances. I wear H-D high top lace-ups most of the time, but when it's cold and/or rainy I wear H-D Lined slip-ons (treated with waterproofing). Neither are much fun to walk in for long -- the lace-ups hurt my toes and the slip-ons eat my socks.
I bought some Oxtar's from New Enough on a sale. They are a great fitting boot with some protection built in. Also, mine are gore-Tex and one of the mags did a review on waterproof boots and these were the only ones that stood the test of being soaked in water for 24 hours and staying dry. Side zipper w/ velcro tightener. Only problem with them is that they are not re-buildable. Art

check out Sportsman Guide, if you get on their email list usually some type of HD boots on sale almost every week. Some are closeouts or just overstocksm and not every size but I saved $70 on the Vagabond last year vs. the local HD dealer. At http://www.sportsmansguide.com/
I wear chippewa boots that go halfway up your shins, a buddy of mine swears by red wings. My chippewas are very comfortable can wear them all day but become a uncomfortable if you do a lot of walking but not as uncomfortable as HD boots. I will probably go with red wings next time.
