BMW sells a vented boot. It is a European style and I always looked down my nose at them because I was strictly a Cruiserworks man. Riding buddy kept bragging about his Beemer boots so one day I tried a pair on and damn they were comfortable. Bought a pair and liked them so much, bought a pair of their "all round boot" for winter and wet days. Gave the Cruiserworks to Goodwill.

Whats neat about the vented boots is that you can arch your foot inside and get cooling air on the bottom of your foot. Sounds stupid but it sure feels good on hot days. I do it all the time.

Whats bad about them is they get really wet inside if you get caught in the rain. Dry out pretty quick though.

I believe Oxtar also sells a vented boot, in fact Oxtar may make the BMW boots they look so much alike.

I know you said you don't care about waterproofing because it doesn't rain in Arizona.
But, who knows, you may want to make a trip one day,
and the farther you are away from home, the more important dry boots become.

My warm weather boots are Bates, 6"/nylon inserts, about $40.
Comfortable all the time, especially if you're walking around at concerts, etc. a lot of police supply shops sell them

I wear Red Wings for their comfort and durability. Red Wing also has some cushioned socks that are very comfortable and long wearing to go with their boots. Danner boots with the nylon inserts are very good quality and also extremely comfortable. The H.D.boots(by Wolverine) also have a model of boot with the nylon inserts too. They also offer several models called the Shock Absorbers that are supposed to be very comfortable and have a 30 day money back guarantee if they're not. Might be worth a try!

+1 for Redwing

Now in Washington State but use to be stationedin Ft Hood, TX.

Redwings may not suffice for the ventilation you are looking for, but they are a sturdy boot that can stand up to a tough environment. They are very comfortable once broke in.

As long as you have a good rubber sole it doesn't matter much. I've had Wolverines, Red wings, and I'm on my second pair of H-D boots (cheaper at Fleet Farm or Western shop), I've had both lace up and engineers and the most important is definately the rubber sole. I think the engineer boot is not as hot as the lace up becuase it isn't as tight, but that is just my .02.

I have a pair of Milwaukee Classic Harness boots and they are great. No break in required and felt great from day one. Check them out. http://www.mmccleather.com/catalog/m...oots/index.asp

I wear Redwings in the winter, and Double H steel toed cowboy boots in the summer. I've got a pair of men's size 7 Double H's, brand new, for sale... email me if you'd like to see them. I got the wrong size last year, and have been trying to sell them.

From what I'm told, Bates makes the FXRG line of Harley boots. Remove the Bar and shield and save $125...

Sounds like you need some with Cordura uppers. Just be sure that whatever you buy has hard rubber soles with a heavy lug type tread so they don't slip out from under you at stop lights[:@].
