This is my first FI bike, 05 FXDWGI. Other than cars, I have never been involved with computer engine controls, especially ones that do not give feedback to the computer. If I were to purchase a SERT is this something that can be tuned by myself, or is it done by the dealer.
Springer thanks! I'm am also new to this forum, after I asked my question I tried a search on the subject and found the exact post you suggested (and wrote I might add) again thanks and I've got to keep the search link in mind while on here. I guess it still doesn't hurt to ask, I'm sure there are others who forget to try a search first.

No Problem.
In your initial post you asked about tuning it yourself. The thread just tells you about it but not how to tune it. If you aren't scared off by what you saw then you should read more on the data recording feature. It may require specific tools (AFR device) to do a complete tune without a Dyno.
He is right if you weren't scared off by what you read you will then want to go and look at the pdf file on the CD that tells you all the maps 2001 to 2004 and 2005 / 2006 and check and see if there is a map that has a relatively close map to what you have in your bike.
Each map you open you can also see what is setup for. Generally these maps will get you really close provided you have what they state. If it does not and you want to change your air cleaner to a high flow and your pipes to something other than stock you will want to get close and go to the dealer and have it tuned. If you live a ways from the dealer and decide to not opt to go this way you will not want to add the Air Cleaner / Pipes have someone else do it or trailer it to the dealer. These bikes come already lean from the factory and you will be taking a big risk running them even leaner.
The file your looking for once you install the tuner software is OEM Calibration File Information.pdf
Nope not scared off. Do you think a bung welded to the crossover pipe, that a O2 sensor could be used to measure the AFR? I could then remove and use a plug to close. I have a voltage chart to use on an O2 sensor for specific readings. Your opinion appreciated.

Check out the amount of time required to have your bike on a brake dyno. They sure don't do your bike any good. You may not want a SERT.
