It might be the handlebar position relative to your seating position. I use to do a lot of cross country driving, where I would drive through the night and spend 20+ hours at a time behind the wheel. It took me several years before I trained myself to stay in a relaxed position and not grip the wheel overly tight. Do you hold the grips on the handlebars a little too tight or stay a bit to tense in your riding position?

Not CTS, if arms feel numb and burning, it's the C4, C5 area of the neck. You probably have a calcium build up that is pushing against the spinal chord or a slipped disc. I know about this because I am recoverong from a neck injury and will need to have the surgery to get my feeling back.
Thanks for the replies,
1. Monitoring my blood pressure for 5 years or so now due to my background, fam. history, etc..
2. Happens no matter what position, or what bike/car I drive
3. Neck is great, recent neck x-rays for my yearly physical with Medical Doc and Chiro.
I have had circulation checked,.
I am leaning towards carpal due to years of riding, working for Post Office for 6 years (very high incident of repetitive motion at P.O. due to repetition of sorting/casing mail)
Hmm I will try putting the braces back on while I sleep.
Would like to try some kinda natural remedy if anyone has heard of one for carpal tunnel..and yes typing does bring it on...
Where do you feel numbness?
All the fingers - cause could be something else, like circulation.
Middle, index and thumb, then it could be carpal.
Here three links that could help you determine if you got carpal tunnel syndrome.
99octane, thanks for the links. Have come across several good sites on CT searching the net, but one of yours hit 99% of symptoms on the head. The first link is my case to a T. Gonna try B6 sup. to see if it helps.
Once again thanks and this is something I am gonna live with because giving up riding is not an option.
I have been living with this for years. Long time into riding and shooting. Had the operation on the right wrist but it still goes numb and tingly. I use one of those throttle attachments on long trips but otherwise I "shake" it out on the road. I deal with it as you will have to also.

Your symptoms are suspiciously similar to carpal tunnel syndrome (which is caused from repetitive motion). This is such a common disorder in the new computer age. I have it myself, due to the long hours I work on my computer and compoundedby riding my bike for long periods of time.
I have to be very careful how Ibend my wrists when riding. It seems to help. There are all kinds of braces to help combat the effects, but riding with them is somewhat difficult. Worst case scenario is, of course, surgery to correct it.Personally, I think I will do what I can to control it before I will take THAT option.
I don't know what repetitive movement causedthe problem in your case, and if you can't find a simple solution for your condition, then as a friendly piece of advise here is a suggestion .... perhaps, maybe, ummm, getting a girlfriend might help.[sm=smiley36.gif]
