Had the impression that my Superglide did a strange nois while revving up from low RPM.
I tried to test it but never found the proper condition.
Until this evening. A narrow road beside the main one. Revved up, 2nd, 3rd. Crossroads. Better to slow down. Pretty fast. I should mention that as a hobby I forge iron and steel to make custom knives and various tools and implements for my forge. I once ripped the handle off a tap, by mistake. Gripped the brake... and managed, single disk notwithstanding, to lock the front wheel. [:-]
I've been accustomed to performance drive ABS-less cars and got some feel for locking, and for instantly releasing the brake. I was locked for, I think, no more than 2-3 tenths of a second. Perhaps less. The bike wobbled wildly, went off vertical by a good degree. Managed to yank it up again with a quick kick to the gorund.
Lesson learned. Treat that brake GENTLY, you ********!
Dude you had my full attention I even stopped drinking to read this. I am so glad it was not a tragic ending like I just knew it would be about mid way through it. Glad your ok. I hate it whena bikergoes down. Seen to manybikers down and injuried in Myrtle Beach while I lived there.
