If you're keeping it indoors, or in an enclosed garage, just cover it with a bedsheet. All you're looking to do if your storing it that way is to keep dust from building up.

I keep mine covered with a bottom bed sheet. The elastic at both ends keeps it snug over the front and back of the bike.
A bedsheet. I agree. Really all you want to do is keep the dust and dirt off. A good cotton sheet or two can do this cheaply. Plus it will allow your bike to breathe.

My two cents?? Go with something "breathe-able" Moisture sucks. I got the harley one
which is a pain to put on and take off, but I like how it works.

I've been looking at one thats similar www.cycleshelter.com
I'm one of those unlucky guys who has no garage and keeps his bike outside spring -late fall ,right now i have opne of the harley storm covers which covers all but about 1" of my rims, this spring i'm either going to one of these free standing units or building a small shed, winter I store in my heated basement.
DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE. IT IS A P.O.S.

My dryer vents into my garage so I got a cycleshelter to keep the dust and lint off my bike.
Problems are: The velcro closures do not properly align (so the dust still gets in).
The clips that secure it when closed break easily (I've gone through 8 of them).
It is NOT easy to assemble or portable (I wouldn't ever consider taking it apart since it
was such a b|tch to put together).
If you have a large bike and don't center it properly, the support poles will hit the bike
when you are closing or opening it.
I don't think it would hold up to a strong windstorm if the bike isn't in it.

You would be better off building a shed. That way you will have protection and storage space for motorcycle do-dads.

WildWill,

Thanks for the heads up on the cycle shelter, seemed like a good idea over coming home late at night and waiting for the bike to cool down to cover it up,I think I'll stay with my original thought of a shed, winter storage I put the bike in the heated basement,but.......... thats not a easy thing to do daily, usually a few buddies come by and help me get it in the basement. thanks again

I looked at the web site for cycle shelter, but came across another one in the process. It's called TheBike Barn (.net). For a touring size bike, 365 plus shipping.

Anyone here know if they're worth the cost?

Jeez, my winter storage is $350 with the oil change. They saw me coming a mile away and reeled this sucker in big time.
