Default Red River Harley Davidson

My upcoming coast to coast trip looks like a 7200 mile round trip. This means I will be taking a day off the roadto service my bike.According to my calculations, that will put me at or about Wichita Falls Texas. The dealership there is Red River Harley Davidson. Has anyone out there had any experience with these guys? If so, please let me know if they are okay, trustworthy etc. If they aren't, I'd like to know that too. My other options are: Fort Worth or Abeline. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have ridden by Red River, never stoped, too close to home to stop.
Texoma HD in Sherman Tx are ok, did my 5000 w them.
Harley Davidson of Noth Texas in Carrollton Tx (Dallas) are good.
I hear the Dealer in FW are worthless as **** on a boar hog, but its hearsay. Lots of hearsay I might add.

I'd call ahead and see if they will do the service on the day you plan to arrive. Some of the guys around here say they are full for 4 or 5 days, and by then I have another 1,000 miles on it. I do my own.
If worse comes to worse get a gallon jug and the fluids and change it yourself and take the fluid to an autoparts place that takes in used oil.

Never had any work done there, but according to a few of the sales people, there rate is a bit high. They don't get a discount, so most use a local indy, who is busy all the time. azhole is right in giving them a call, I think that be a good idea. Another alternative, Charlie Taylor, who was red rivers sales manager for 15 years, is working for Four Stars Auto in Henrietta,TX. Just about 20 miles south down 287. They have statrted selling bikes, mostly harleys, and just opened there service shop. He told me they would offer as good of a service if not better, at a more reasonable rate. There number is 1-800-299-4782. Just ask for Charlie Taylor. Hope this gives you options so your assured of getting it taken care of with little or no lost time.

I've stopped in and bought shirts, etc. very friendly even after they found out I wasn't buying a new bike.
A friend of mine deals with American Eagle Harleyjust south of Denton,Tx. on I-35E.Steer clear of Ft. Worth Harley.
Also Longhorn Harley on I-20 In Grand Prarie (south side of Dallas)does have good rep. for service. Bikes are high as hell though.
One other in area is Texas Harley on Hwy. 183 In Bedford,TX. has good reports for service. Bikes are high as hell though.
Maybe higher price bikes allows a little better pay for staff?
When you get close pm me and we'll meet in Ft. Worth and show yall a little Texas hospitality.

Don't know about Red River, but if Amarillo is on your way you can go by Tripp's. I bought oil and a filter there for a service I was doing myself and asked if they would dump the oil for me.

They furnished a pan, rags, and told me to ask if I needed any tools or help. This isa first rate dealership.

Clicked on the post because I thought they were opening a new dealership up in the Fargo or Grand Forks, ND area, and wnated to find out about it. Instead, what I found is what makes this such a "DAMMED" good place to be. Someone seeking some help and advice, and "boodles" of fellow bikers wallowing in to help.

i would givered rivergood marks - i have not used their service dept, but several friends do routinely and are satisfied. always been courteous in all my dealings with them. be sure to call ahead to make sure you are on schedule if you can as already suggested.

the other place i would recommend for quick service is american eagle hd in corinth texas - just at the edge of denton texas. they have very large service area and have always been able to schedule work quickly and on short notice for me. a little high on prices but the service is very quick and easily available.

there is a local shop here in ardmore oklahoma that is very good on harley work. nice clean service area, great technicians, excellent motor builders, nice people who do a lot of maintenance and upgrade harley work. might give them consideration if you are just a little north of the wichita falls area on the I-35 corridor(about 1 hr 15 mineast of wichita and about 1 hr north of the dallas area) - they have done a couple of major rebuilds on my bikes and all the maintenance. very fair prices. top notch. longhorn scooters / no coast bikes and trikes - name they go by.
