Default Doing a Bike Show

I have been asked by my local American Legion of which I am a member to put on a bike show at an upcoming "walk-a-thon" that will raise funds for NY state Veterans homes/hospitals........I have no experience doing this and would appreciate some advice on how to go about this......I would like to attract as many bikers as possible and would also like to see as much of the proceeds as possible go to the Vets......Thankyou....Scott

Default RE: Doing a Bike Show

If you don't know what you are doing, don't try to sponsor a bike show. Nothing worse than attending a bike show and nothing being right. There's more to a good show than just advertizing and making a few classes of different bikes. You need to figure out how many classes you are going to have, metric vs Harley, dressors vs choppers, etc.(you will get alot of gripes if someone shows up and you don't have a seperate class for their bike) To have a great show, you actually need to have about 15 to 20 different classes. Another thing, who is going to judge the show, a peoples choise show ammounts to who has the most friends at the event. I used to sponsor a few shows about 20 years ago, they were fun, but you always worried about someone getting mad.
