I am no evo expert, but I have heard nothing but good about 'em. Course they are like shovels, pans, knuckles and the like.....you either love 'em or hate 'em. Everyone seems to have a favorite.....

In 98 there was a bearing issue, but as far as I know, it was remdied-- I have heard good things otherwise though.

I put 189,000 miles on a 1989 low rider that was EVO powered. Never any trouble and it ran as strong as the day I got it when I traded for my Electraglide.

A friend of mine works at the capitol drive engine plant . He has mentioned to me in the past about HD engine program. He sees alot of evo engines sent in for overhaul, that look great even though they have tons of miles on them. For instance crosshatch can still be seen on the cyndler walls.

I put 80,000+ mile on a 95 Evo. I hope my twin cam is as good.

My Springer had 80,000 miles when the odometer broke. Stayed broke for 2 years until I replaced the whole spedo with a unit that had a tac. We did rebuild the top end at 89,000 only because we were doing some head work, and as long as the engine was down, made sense to do it. Like someone above posted, hope my TC does as well.

Ive had two and never had a problem and three buddy's of mine that got there's between 93 and 95 all three put cam's , high comp. piston's and had head's flowed as soon as they got them. All three of them put over 80,000 mi on them and never had a problem and they rode them hard. The EVO is a good motor.

same as JB, I've had 2. 91 FLHS and still have a 99 Night Train. The 91 developed a gasket leak, but never needed any real work on the motor, and I only have 3700 miles on the NT (yeah, don't ride it much). Other guys I know like them as well, just that they don't like the "evo" moniker vs. something cooler like "shovelhead" etc.
