I agree with Old Bones.... I've been going to Laconia since '93. The only ones that are a pain in the *** are the LEO's. We went in early one week and they were writing tickets to bikes parked on the white lines that seperate parking spaces down in the Weirs. That and tickets for not feeding the meters. We said something to the cops about it and they said the following day they wouldn't be writing people. Well WTF??? There were already thousands and thousands of people there? Why bust *****?
Over all... it's a great time. Be prepared for any weather. It can be hot as hell during the day and the temp drops at night. And like a few others have said... bring rain gear. You're gonna get wet at least one day. Guaranteed.
I gottaagree with everyone else, I live about 6 1/2 hrs from Laconia, so I've been going to bike week since the 80's and I've never had any problems.....great rally and great people.

Other than drinking, the only other thing to watch out for is, the boulevard is ONE WAY. If you see a parking place on the other side of the row of parking DO NOT go the wrong way down the boulevard to get to it. LEO's love busting ***** on that one.
One thing to look out for is do not park in a handicapped spot unless authorized (should go without saying) and if it says don't park, then don't park. The leos ride around all day on a flat bed towing. Constantly see a flatbed go by with 4 guys holding 2-3 bikes on it.
