Question about Lift

I have a handy table lift with the vice that holds the front wheel.. is there anything I can put on the inside of the vice so it doesnt have hardly a chance to stratch my rim?

My lift has rubber glued to the insides of the vice. but to be honest with you I've squeezed the hell outta my front tire and have never gotten close to the wheel.

I install a Harbor Freight chock on mine. Works great. Add 3/4" board to the inside of the chock where the tire lands it makes the pullout easier.

How about wood boards with carpet or rubber on the sides.

the rubber Idea is great ! find a mud flap that has fallen off a desiel truck and cut it into strips
then use extra heavy duty Contact cement to hold the strip in place
then you can use the rest of the mat for a slip pad on your floor
