Original Registration or Copy?

Original Registration or Copy?

Does anyone know if in Indiana (or other states) you can carry a copy of your registration as opposed to the original as long as you can produce the original if needed? Or do you have to carry the original registration on you on the bike?

Given the choice, I'd carry the original and keep acopy at home. As suggested above, call your DMV.

a Copy should suffice since they can verify all the information in their computer. I just make a copy of registrastraion and insurance and keep it with the bike

In KY you don't have to carry a registration according the info on the back of the registration. Quote. "This certificate or photostatic copy of same must be carried in every vehicle (except motorcycles) and every motorboat at all times and be available for inspection by any peace officer." Unquote. Check the back of you registration. I guess they use the insurance card here for that info. I carry a shrunken copy of mine in my billfold anyway.
