If you're going to run a stock bike the fuel pack is fine, it will get the A/F mix richer to keep your bike from running lean and hot, which all stock bikes do...if you're going to do stage 1 mods, break down and spend a few more $$ and get the Power Commander or SERT...either of those, tuned right by a good tech will get you way more performance bang for your buck...
07' Street Glide, installed one (along with Vance and Hine Ovals and A/N big sucker)after 1,000 miles. Have over 14,000 mi. on it now with no problems. Better mileage, and runs cooler.
WhatNight Train said. I had (still have it) one on my Heritage Classic and was not impressed at all by it. V&H tech support was bad (still waiting on them to return my phone call), still popped on decel, and was running way too rich. Took it in to have it dyno tuned and shop couldn't get anything out of V&H either. Have a PCIII usb on it and with it being dyno'd runs great, and if I ever change out exhuast, I can re-tune it.
2008 ultra, s/e a/c, s/e touring mufflers. fuel pac works great with this combo. bike is not abs equipped, so there is plenty of room for the fuel pac behind the right cover since that is where they put the abs module. the fact that i don't have to pay for an install, or dyno time or beat the bike up on the dyno made the 215 dollars for the f/p thru eastern cycles seem like a great deal to richen up the a/f mixture. bike is also feels much better on torque and h/p by the seat of the pants feel.
My 06 Tail runs great with it. I have Big radius pipes with Big City Thunder baffles plus 3/4 of the original baffles added behind the BCT's. Everytime I had a change in setup or a questionI'd get through to V&H immeadiatly. Customer service was great & I was given new numbers on the phone for the longer baffles. I'd give it & V&H a big 2 finger wave
BTW, some popping on decel is normal with short pipes. If you want no decel popping, get some quiet pipes that will absorb the popping sound.
