Happy Easter Gents!
Considering the polo style with the sewn in leather ear flaps. Maybe it's my big ears but the wind howling is getting to me. Tried ear plugs but they block out too much noise. Anybody using this helmet with ear flaps? Are they comfortable? Do they block out wind howling? I'm buying this helmet unseen because I haven'tread anything bad about it on this forum.
That was my first helmet. It had the detachable flaps. I removed them during summer.I liked it but for noise reduction, I prefer 3/4 helmet. One day I'll probably move to full face.
at a certain angle they can make a whistling noise.. other than that
they come with a padded chin strap thing.. which is nicer than the ear flaps...
i guess they can keep ur ears a bit warmer but not much at all...
in a half helmet with no other protection on a really cold day you will
still get brain freeze regardless of ear flaps :P
I have the ACC with the ear flaps and love them. The flaps do help with the noise but are also more comfortable over the ears than the plain straps. One caution on the polo style though, the visor protrusion will catch more wind at highway speeds and the helmet will tend to "lift" on your head. I wouldn't recommend the polo for other than around town riding.

I had the same problem with the wind and removed the visor. Much better.

The "visor" on the polo style is not removeable, it's part of the mold.
