Serious question-Does it ever end?
My first HD was a Dyna Wide Glide. Before I brought it home I had already added SEII slip ons, a 180 rear tire, more chrome, etc. Then came the rest of the Stage I with new air cleaner, Dyno tune, and more chrome. I was about to finish chroming the front end when I decided what I really wanted was a bagger.
Next came the Road King. Again before I drove it home came new slip ons, air cleaner, tour pak, lots of chrome, and a ECM download off my SERT I purchased. Recently added siren, more chrome and Dyno tune with the SERT.
I already have a list of more mods for next winter-chrome inner primary, etc.
Unfortunately was at the dealership last week and saw some really nice looking aftermarket wheels. I am thinking about going with alloy wheels now that I've learned I can put a 150 on the rear without changing anything else. So I put this on the list to do when I need to do my first tire change.
My point is why do we keep doing this? I'm really not kidding here, I worry about my constant want (need) to change my bike. I've never done this sort of thing with other things I've owned, it seems to be just with my Harley's. I had a Honda years ago and never did this many mods. I just rode it!
I'm just curious how many folks finally get to the point they like their bike - and don't go off and buy another. They finally get the ride they want and settle back and savor the bike! Does it finally end at some point?
Yep. Eventually, you run out of money, the old lady kills you, or you die of old age. Any of those puts a fairly abrupt end to customizing.

About the time you "think" you are done, some jackbutt will come along and "post" what he did or thought of, and AWAY you go to the Net, catalog, stealer, or grudge, to pull off the "latest" thing, and the process just keeps repeating itself.
The key to getting there, is to "wrench" it yourself. Way MORE items completed for the same $$$. Again, no matter how much you accomplish, you are NEVER done. You just have to hope you live long enough to accomplish the "majority" of them.
Now, that said, WTF are you doing "posting" on here when you NEED to be out in the grudge performing some sort of upgrade to the bike? Hop 2 it, pronto. There are things to be done and $$$ to spend.
