I still have my '04. It's a great bike, it's just not a long distance cruiser like a RK. It's also fast and it handles great unlike a RK. You're right. It's a Harley.
This is my 5th Harley and my first Sportster. It is "one hell of a ride". It might be the smallest Harley made but it's the most exhilerating ride in the fleet. My 1200 C is a keeper.
Yep I've heard they are girlie bikes, saying thatI nearly bought one ,the 1200 would be good fine. I would get the sport with the twin stoppers.
I wouldnttouch a 883 unless its cheap enough to fit a big bore.
ignor the girlie thingive seen some big guys riding some mean looking tricked up sportsters
The only girls bike I know of are the pink ones that Schwinn sells without the bar in the middle. I personally like the way the 1200 Sportsters look. I'd buy one in a minute. Wouldn't even think twice about it. A guy I know has one, and it's alot faster than my bike, if that's what you're after.
Metric is not an option you state and funds only allow for a used Sporty. You're asking the wrong question. Sounds like the real question is whether to be riding or not

Get what YOU want. Just don't put those pink fringe things on the handgrips 'cause then you'd look like a girl[8D].
By the way, I have one of those chic bikes called a Deluxe (see my avatar).

Ok I need help. I owned a metric bike, went to HD demo day, rode a Harley for the first time ever, bought a new Electraglide. Economy got tough work slowed and I had to sell it. I am now in the market again, metric is not an option to me, but I can only afford a 1200 sportster-used. I'm 5'10 198lbs, and hear I'm too big, it's a girls bike. No one ever calls a metric a girls bike due to size. A Harley is a Harley is it not or am I crazy??????
