I see your from ohio and up in cleveland area. I have a harley jacket but what i did is the way to go i waitted and waited until i saw that one of the dealers was having a 40% off leather sale and i went up to Roders in sandusky and picked out my jacket. Good looking jacket and fits great and is top quality was $450 i paid just under $250 tax out the door. Got to wait for the deals thats what i did.
You ever heard of Ridin on magazine a free publication you can pick up most dealers in ohio, grab them everythime you see them thats how i watch for the sales adds that and the thunderpress.
There is no way i would pay full price for a HD jacket but they are great jackets and if you watch you will find the 40% off sales and thats when you buy.
I have one- I don't know what model it is, bought it about 6 years when I bought my bike. I didn't know any better, and the jacket looked good. It was overpriced, knowing what I know now. I'll keep it though, it's nicely broken in and weathered, and it's really heavy compared to a lot of the harley brand jackets. Once it's completely falling apart, I'll get a Fox Creek. My brother picked up one of those- about as pricey as the HD jacket, but much nicer.
Bought the a jacket in nov 07 worked out $750-800 dollars some european countries more, guess the jacket cost harley less than $50 and no the rest is not taxes, greedy dealers..
The only thing I own that says Harley on it other than my Harley are my riding boots. Got the stealth HD boots and I had to get them at a Big " R " store cause none of the Stealers carried them. Got me a nice riding jacket and chaps at a local leather shop for less than half what Harley stuff costs. ( Oh forgot I think my fork bag says Harley on it too )
I have a Harley "race" jacket. I think I paid 325 for it but have seldom worn it.I have a Navy leather flight jacket Iwear all the time and am considering putting the Harley jacket on Ebay.
I bought one several months ago now. I paid $535 for it. I think it was the biggest waste of money I ever spent. One would think that HD would want to carry on a legacy of quality motorcycles and accessories however this does not seem to fit the board of directorâs agenda. The snaps pulled out, the stitching came loose in more than one spot and the zippers on the wrist snagged ever time you zipped them. I took it back to the dealer within two weeks of buying it and was told under the warranty they would send me another jacket but would not refund my money. I did get a hand full of new snaps that I installed and pulled out again latter. I am taking it to a leather worker here in town this week for repairs and better snaps. I have since purchased a jacket and chaps from Fox Creek Leather. I wanted brown in both and they sent me samples in black to get the correct fit. I havenât received the set yet and will be sure and let you all know how well they turn out. Fox Creek is no more expensive than HD stuff.
The price of Harley Leather has kept me away for a long time. Two years ago in Sturgis there were selling Harley leather for discounted rates. I picked up a Harley Competition Jacket for under $200 bucks. I know these jackets retail for more than $400. My only regret is not picking up more of them and unloading it on ebay.

I have a matched set of jacket, vest and chaps. It is the "Corrall" collection, or something like that.......it's a very good set of leathers. All are heavy weight leather and lined, and very comfortable. I know I paid too much for them (around 800 bills), but, I thought my hide was worth it. These leathers will last me a very long time.
I have one leather and a few nylon ones. I try them on at the dealer until I find one I like and then shop for that size/style on ebay. Always save a few bucks that way. Liberty HD usually has a 20% sale on all clothes in December each year. But like some of the others say...you have to shop & wait out the deals. My $.02.
