I was going to go on a Easter ride, but the B&C cancled her plans and asked me if we could go for an Easter family drive.
I was going to ride the PHC from Santa Monica to when ever I ran out of gas, and I decided to take the Family out in the truck instead.
I was amazed at all the F**king traffic and all the bikes!
On a side note I noticed that NO ONE was waving to each other today!
probably because they were scared shitless to take there hands off the controls!
I was on the PHC for about 2.5 hrs mostly sitting in stop and go traffic and witnessed 2 bike colissions!! both were sport bikes! but the Curiser guys were almost as wreckless!
I also witnessed a near head on crash of two vehicles triing to share the middle midian to try to make left hand turns in oppisite directions! It was maddening!
Im glad I didnt take a ride to this place I would have been very uneasy with all that cager maddness!
I like to relax alittle when I ride and see some scenery not ride for my life.
It might have been scary in Cali, but around here it was peaceful...There wasn't much traffic at all, had most of the roads to myself. Of course around here the weather wasn't exactly ideal - 40 degrees (maybe) and sunny. Only saw about 2 or 3 other bikes out there, but I managed to log in over 60 miles total...Up here in the northeast, we have to take advantage whenever the opportunity presents itself. I envy those in the warmer climates, but not the traffic they have to contend with.
I saw a few bikes today too. I rode up to Red Lion, PA and froze my behind off on the way back. I thought it was warmer and didn't dress in full winter gear. Certainly wasn't a lot of traffic.
Perfect riding weather in LR AR today, 65 and sunny. The NCAA tourney was in town so there was a little traffic downtown but light everywhere else. Saw several bikes out while I was riding, no crashes.
I know what you're saying atomic, it was a bit chilly out there!! When I first left the homestead I was wearing only my half helmet. I came back after 25 'cold' miles and did the Easter thing for a while. When I went back out I took the full face. I was kinda cold, but I wouldn't have missed it for anything. Riding season's too short up north. Many folks around here won't even start the bike up unless it's in the 60's. I'm not one of them.
See, same day, same road and different view.
I went to the long beach swap meet with a couple friends, then decided to take the long way home. Road south and jumped on PCH in Long Beach, and road south thru surfside, Bolsa Chica, Hnt. Bch and Newport. Lots of cars and bikes, but all the riders on bikes were smiling and happy. Talked to one at a red light and everybody was enjoying the nice weather and spring like conditions.
Rode without the leather jacket and it was nice an comfortable.
Not busting your chops, just giving another perspective. (By the way, I see you are in Diamond Bar, I live close by in Yorba Linda)
Went for a 30 mile jaunt around 5pm yesterday after the egg donor pick up my children. Underestimated the weather - almost could not un-curl my hands from the grips when I was done. But it was great!
