Scout, you have my ear on this one. My employer is located in the US and I visit quite frequently. In fact, I am in Fond du Lac WI as I type. I will be visiting Bob's again this trip. It is incredible how much cheaper accessories are here in the US. Canadian prices have been reduced several times over the last few years on the initial bike purchase. I am sure you have noticed this too with the most recent decrease happening with the 2006 model launch. Accessories seem to be a different story however. I have been in to see my local "stealer" a few time since I bought my FXD last June and I am always sure to remind them where I buy my parts......
Good luck with the correspondence though. Let us know if you get any responses!!![:'(]
Try buying your parts from Chicago HD. They have a great website and usually sell parts at a 20% DISCOUT and there is no sales tax. They have the best prices I've seen.
69er, what my problem is, I'm not only getting ripped off on my aftermarket, but when I need a part, as in now since I have my front end ripped off, I get screwed. I can't run over to the States for a $80.00 part, but it's costing me $25.00 exchange.
I will make this an issue with my dealer! Wait for the response. It will be fun.
I am getting my first HD in about a week but cant you find just about anything on Ebay? I know Ive looked for Nacelles and cosmetic type stuff prepping for my ride and havent had alot of probs. I pray I never have to pay HD prices let alone an inflated HD price. I guess I have alot to learn once I get it delivered.

same item in the UK is ÂŁ398, which converts to $796 Canadian dollars or $694 US dollars. Thats the reason I buy all of my accessories direct from the US. Even after I pay postage, insurance, Import duty, VAT (value added tax), The items are still between 25 and 30% cheaper than buying from UK dealers
HD has a web site listing all their prices in all countries. Us Canadians are getting ripped off.
Example: part # 37970-03A Race Clutch USD $384.95
CAD $529.95
Current exchange 1.14751
That would make this part cost $439.81 CAD after exchange in Canadian Dollars. It's $90.00 difference or about 22% rip off!!!!![:@][:@][:@]
I propose all us Canucks b*tch at our dealers, or go to the US, or they will continue to rip us off!
Joe...you should join your brothers from your side of the bridge that are down here putting on parts,eh. There's always some at my dealers when I go out there.
