Glad to hear YOU are ok.
Thoughts and prayers to the victim's family and of the injured as well.
And yes, I can imagine it was a very sedate ride back.

I am a banana bender on the Gold Coast
Hope you're feeling better today.
Yeah, I,m from Perth. Thanks to all for theirconcerns but I'm going OK. I have'nt heard how the hurt bloke is going but he was listed as critical last night.
his kind of crap always happens, every group ride i've been on some one has gone down. just have to roll with the punches. better them than you, thats the way i look at it now.
I don't know what all you saw or didn't see, but, personally, I would go see a counselor. People generally don't deal well on their own with really disturbing sounds and images. They try to just force themselves to forget but that doesn't work. If something really got to you then you need to talk about it and do so in the context of the accident.Generally people don't want to talk about graphic details to family and friends. They rightly worry about upsetting them. That's what the counselor is for. Part of their job is to cope with disturbing thingstold to them.
I've spoken to a copabout itand now that I'vefigured out exactly what happened, (that took about 48 hours), my mind is clear. I hope it never happens to me but life goes on.
Another reason not to ride in large groups, IMO. There will usually be some an idiot or two that is wanting to pass everybody for no reason other than to show off. Over taken the run leader? That is a big no, no in my book, unless the leader signals him around for something. IMO, as soon as some jerk decides to go zipping around the leader, the group should pull over and tell the guy to either go his own way or get in the very last spot and stay there.
