Default I know, I know,... this is the wrong

forum for this post but I have yet to get a response in theoil relatedforum - and I'm itchin' to get started.
My '06 RKC's been sitting under wraps in a relatively heated garage the past four to five months now . It's been hooked up to a trickle charger, and had fule stabilizer addedto a topped up tank prior to storage.
I did not change my oil (syn3) prior to putting it away andwant to do so now. Should I fire up my bike to get itto operating temperatureso the oil runs more freely, or do I want to drain it cold so the old oil doesn't mix around the engine too much? Will likely change to Amsoil or similar.

Always warm up any engine before you change oil.

I would drain it as it is. By now it has settled nicely and I would not stir it up.

Huh? I always thought syn3 was good for the life of the machine. You guys change it?
Warm it, then drain it as the Boys stated. I like to change mine B4 storage. Gets thecontaminantsout of there.

By warming up the oil (20-30 mile ride) all the contaminants are suspended in the oil and waiting to get out once the drain plug is removed and dipstick pulled out. Oh by the way Syn3 really isn't.

Exactly.... The bike should be up to full temp. and not just warm when you drain it. You want all the particles in suspension. This is a dry sump system folks.

Yes, warm that baby up first. Then this fall change the oil when the bike is put into storage.
