06 street glide
I just purchased an 06 street glide that already has Vance & Hines slip ons. The dealer also told me that the bike has a stage II in it??? Here is what I am wondering, when the bike idles its normally around 1200 rpm, but it will occasionally drop to around 800rpm and flucuate back and forth. The bike only has 1900 miles on it. I was reading in another forum that the 06 and 07 street glide are notorious for the idle flucuating. What I am wondering is if this is normal??? My model is Fuel injected and I noticed that bike "spit"a few times (not often) like other models with a carburator. I accidently put 87 octane in the bike and then found out that 91 octane or higher is recommended. Could this be an issue??

The FI bikes should idle at 1000rpm once operating temps are reached. The ECM actually prevents the FI motors from dropping below 900rpms. (I'm not a tech, but thats what my tech told me)
Mine is an '06, too. Ride it a while through several tanks of fuel and see how it does. Add a little Sea Foam to the fuel if you think you may have a moisture problem or "bad" gas.
