Right before they went under the last time, Indian was set to produce their own motors. I'm not sure if that's the case for 2009.
The web site says they'renew 100ccV-twin Indian motors, not S&S Harley motors.

They should be coming out late 08. The name has failed so many times I don't know why people keep trying to bring them back. Harley defeated them even when Indians began production before Harley and they STILL think they're the best cycles in America. blah

Indian Power Plus Engine:

Creating its own engine had been a priority for Indian Motorcycle because the court mandated it as one of the conditions of trademark ownership when the manquĂŠ was resurrected in 1998

I have a 2003 Indian Chief which has the PP100 engine and I love it... as far as which one I like best the Indian or the Harley, I like them both. They are two different rides and each has it own differences.
The new 2009 Indians are going to be different with fuel injection etc. and it is still based on the PP100 engine. They should be out later this year.

I had a 1946 Chief. It was a great bike. Very smooth ride. Not a lot of power, but it had a 74ci engine.

Been thinking of picking up a Chief with PP100. Anything that I should look for, or maybe more importantly look out for?

I know several Indians that ride motorcycles, mostly Harleys. I even know an Apache that flys an Apache...

most of you sound like very Biased Hog snobs

the Indians are and were great Bikes better styling and better riding than most Harleys
I personally am waiting to see the new 2009's and am looking forward to my new purchase

if I was to buy a new bike it would be an Indian over a Harley
Harley riders have to much attitude
